George Chigova boost for Polokwane City ahead of Telkom Knockout semi-final with Celtic

Posted: 14 November 2017 Time: 19:45

Polokwane City goalkeeper George Chigova could make his return in Sunday's Telkom Knockout semi-final against Bloemfontein Celtic.

Chigova is back at training as he shakes off a knee injury sustained in the quarter-final with Orlando Pirates 10 days ago.

The Zimbabwe international had to be stretchered off the park at Orlando Stadium after colliding with Bucs striker Thamsanqa Gabuza.

Harold Ndlovu took his place in goal as Rise and Shine went on to win 4-2 on penalties in Soweto.

"George is back at training," club spokesman Vusi Ntimane tells KickOff.com.

"He did light training yesterday. The doctors will monitor his situation. We will wait for a late fitness test to determine if he will be available for the game on Sunday."

City will look to reach their first major final when they host Celtic at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium (15h30).
