Jordi Alba admits Neymar’s departure from Barcelona was a big blow to the club but says it has made his playing time more enjoyable.
The Brazil international left the Nou Camp for Paris Saint-Germain in a world-record €222m move in August, leaving a big hole in Barca’s front three that also included Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
And while the Catalan club are still coming to terms with Neymar’s exit, Alba admits he has more freedom higher up the park now that the Brazilian is out the team.
"He [Neymar] is a great player who, due to his circumstances or feelings or thoughts, decided to leave," Alba told Mundo Deportivo.
"In the end, there are still many more guys who can do a good job and I am delighted with the people there.
"As I said before, I have more space to run into and honest, for me, it's much better.
"I have regained confidence. With more space on the left I am very comfortable and that is demonstrated in the field. I'm enjoying it in a way I haven't for a long time."
