Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet feels Manchester City can still be caught in Premier League title race

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is confident the club can still reel in Manchester City in the Premier League title race this season.

The Citizens have looked unstoppable so far this term, having won 10 and drawn one of their opening 11 Premier League matches to sit eight points clear at the summit.

Mignolet, though, has refused to anoint City as champions-elect just yet and feels there is no reason why the Reds cannot cut down the 12-point gap between themselves and Pep Guardiola’s men before the end of the season.

"City are doing really well at this time," said the 29-year-old. "They've got loads of quality. But like always the Premier League is a long journey, there's a long way to go."

He continued: "After [last weekend’s] win at West Ham we closed the gap [on others]. In the busy winter period, anything can happen.

"It's up to us to be challengers and that's what we'll try to do."
