Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has hinted that Ricardo Nascimento could be back with the club in January, while he says Anele Ngcongca is a "proper defender".
Sundowns decided against registering Nascimento for the first half of 2017/18 due to injury and because they had exhausted their foreign quota.
Downs opened talks to cancel Nascimento’s contract - which expires at the end of the season - in late August as he recovered at home in Brazil from an abdominal hernia operation.
However, Mosimane has suggested Nascimento may yet return to Chloorkop in the new year.
“I understand Ricardo is not coming to Sundowns, somebody said that,” said Mosimane.
“But let's leave it like that until January, maybe the statement will be different.”
Meanwhile, ‘Jingles’ reiterated his faith in Ngcongca's abilitites despite the Bafana Bafana international's limited game-time for the Brazilians since his arrival in Tshwane from KRC Genk in August 2016.
Ngcongca is vying for Mosimane's favour with speedy right-back Thapelo Morena and the versatile Asavela Mbekile.
“Anele is a top defender. Anele doesn’t make mistakes. Every week, the way he plays, he plays like this and sometimes when he is not playing it is not that he is not playing well. In fact the games he started we have won. He is a proper defender, clean, quiet.”
