Platinum Stars' Roger de Sa welcomes international call-ups for Brian Mwila, Robert Ng’ambi and Thabang Sesinyi

Platinum Stars coach Roger de Sa is hoping his international players will come back better from national duty as the club seeks to rise from the bottom of the Premiership standings.

Zambian striker Brian Mwila has been called up for a 2018 World Cup qualifier against Cameroon on Saturday, while Malawian midfielder Robert Ng’ambi and Botswana's Thabang Sesinyi are set to feature in friendlies with Lesotho and Gabon respectively on November 15.

De Sa, a former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper, said: “It’s always good that the guys get called up for national duty and represent their country. We are just going to monitor them and watch how much they play and check their fatigue when they come back. It’s good to see them play. Gaucho is injured. I don’t think he is going to play. Robert is ever present in that Malawian side and he scores goals. He will probably play. I hope Brian gets a run and finds his form. I am delighted to have all three of them and hopefully we get more in the future.

“When you play for the national team it’s definitely another level. A lot of things come to play. You play for a lot of pride. It’s a totally different environment. It’s going to be good for them. Every game you play for the national team you benefit and you gain lots of experience. You have to watch their fatigue and how much running they do. There’s a lot of time before our next game so we are not too concerned about that.”

De Sa will use the FIFA break to work on individual weaknesses in his squad.

“At this period we do a lot of individual work. We try to focus on weaknesses of players and try to make them better players. It’s difficult to work as a team because some key players are not here. We still do a bit of team work. It’s individual work. The guys with niggling injuries, we are trying to slow them down, get them rest and get them ready for the next game.”

Dikwena’s next assignment is a home fixture against Bloemfontein Celtic on November 21.
