Barcelona could have forward Ousmane Dembele back from injury in time for next month’s El Clasico against bitter rivals Real Madrid.
The Frenchman joined Los Blancos from Borussia Dortmund in August but ruptured a knee tendon in only his second La Liga appearance, against Getafe, in September.
However, the 20-year-old is ahead of schedule in his recovery and could be back in time for the December 23 trip to the Santiago Bernabeu to face fierce rivals Madrid.
"His evolution is faster than I expected," Dembele’s doctor Sakari Orava told Cadena SER.
"It's possible that he can play against Madrid, but I can not fully guarantee it."If he made a major effort there would be a risk of relapse, but everything could be well if he takes it easy."
