KickOff.com has picked up that Free State Stars are set to part ways with Gabonese forward Allen Dorian Nono as they seek to reshuffle their foreign quota during the January transfer window.
Nono arrived at Stars at the beginning of the year but has struggled to match expectations.
In the second half of last season he made just four appearances from the bench in February, finishing off the campaign without a goal to his name.
This season he has registered a further four appearances – two of them starts. He is yet to score and sat out the club's previous five matches.
Concerns have been raised that a foreign space is being wasted on a player who has barely featured since his signing in January.
Stars have apparently already identified another foreign player that they want to bring in during the January transfer window as they seek to make reinforcements.
Unlike in previous years the PSL regulations now allow clubs to de-register foreign players during the mid-season transfer window and then replace them.
Stars have exhausted their quota of five foreign players in the shape of Nono, Bangaly Keita (Guinea), Olivier Kwizera (Rwanda), Badra Ali Sangare (Ivory Coast) and Mohammed Anas (Ghana).
To bring in another foreign player in January, Ea Lla Koto will have to offload which is why Nono has already been identified as the man to be sacrificed.
