Baroka attacking midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase questioned his future during his recent health scare.
Ntshangase was sidelined for about three weeks with a bad bout of flu.
"I'm alright now, I'm back now," Ntshangase tells KickOff.com.
"I was having a very bad [case of] flu that put me down for three weeks."
The former Black Leopards star feels he is ready to return to action but admits he was worried about his career at one stage.
"Obviously I was scared thinking about my football career. But what was better was that I managed to get medication from a doctor. I don't think I would have lived. What happened is... I coughed too much. So the coughing ended up affecting the inside of my body. They say it was caused by cold. But now I feel very fit. I'm ready now. It will depend on how the coaches have planned but according to my knowledge I'm ready."
The 24-year-old, who hails from Pongola, is grateful for the support he received from his peers during his time out.
"It was too much because most of the guys, they normally visited me every time. Others that I played with at Baroka they even came to my place. I really received a lot of support and I thank everybody for that."
Ntshangase will hope to feature when Bakgaga tackle Bidvest Wits in the Telkom Knockout quarter-finals at Bidvest Stadium on Saturday night. He last played against Kaizer Chiefs in Durban in September.
