Kgoloko Thobejane has likened Baroka's struggles against Bidvest Wits to Kaizer Chiefs' troubles with Bakgaga.

Baroka have lost 2-0, 5-0 and 1-0 to the Students - who they will meet in the Telkom Knockout quarter-finals on Saturday - since getting promoted to the Premiership at the beginning of last season.

Thobejane's side have never lost to Chiefs, extending their dominance over Amakhosi with a 2-1 win at Moses Mabhida Stadium in the league on September 30. They famously slayed the Soweto giants 2-1 in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals on April 24, 2011 when campaigning in the third tier.

"Wits have declared themselves as the hoodoo team to Baroka ever since we are in the PSL," said Thobejane.

"We have never won a game against Wits in all these three games and they won them. We played them last week, they won before we beat Cape Town City in the Telkom Knockout last-16. I'm just laughing to say, 'This Wits, they know that Baroka is an obvious case'.

"It's like this one of Kaizer Chiefs against Baroka. A win for Kaizer Chiefs against Baroka is a draw. They have never, ever won a game against us. It's not like they are not good. It is the kind of situation that you've got to accept."

Ever the optimist, Thobejane is confident the log leaders will buck the trend against the misfiring Premiership champions at Bidvest Stadium this weekend.

''But on Saturday night... Milpark... at the end of the day, Baroka will see themselves in the semi-finals.''
