Lucky Baloyi inspired at Bloemfontein Celtic

Lucky Baloyi is loving life at Bloemfontein Celtic, saying he hasn't been in "such a fantastic environment in a long time".

The midfielder joined Celtic in July after he was offloaded by Kaizer Chiefs at the end of last season following a seven-year stay at Naturena.

While Baloyi struggled for game-time at Amakhosi he harbours no ill feelings towards his former employers. However, he is enjoying his football in the City of Roses.

"I have not been in such a fantastic environment in a long time and I am convinced that I made the right decision to come here," Baloyi is quoted as saying on his club's website.

'Sheriff' says there are no egos or superstars at Siwelele.

"Once you are bonded, you ultimately develop that telepathy and common understanding leading to better and progressive displays. Fortunately, we don’t have individuals who are superstars and egocentric. Instead, we have players that are in unison and willing to fight for each other. Fuelling the desire to do well will always be the massive support we are getting from our faithful supporters, we really appreciate it."

Phunya Sele Sele are riding high in fourth place on the Premiership standings with 15 points from nine games - two points behind leaders Baroka, while they will battle Platinum Stars in the Telkom Knockout quarter-finals at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturday.

Baloyi, though, is mindful of managing expectations.

"Look, our recent performances are a true reflection of what has been happening at training. We are taking each game as it comes and are working towards achieving our goals without putting pressure unto ourselves."
