Wednesday's UEFA Champions League preview and fixtures: Tottenham, Real Madrid, Manchester CIty

Posted: 1 November 2017 Time: 15:45

Wednesday’s round of UEFA Champions League action throws up some thrilling ties, none more so than Tottenham’s home encounter against Real Madrid.

Spurs currently top Group H on goal difference to holders Real Madrid, with the two sides having played out a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The sides will now resume hostilities at Wembley Stadium tonight where victory for either team would virtually secure their place in the last-16, with Borussia Dortmund and Apoel Nicosia contesting the group’s other match, with both those sides on just a single point each.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will be looking to take sole ownership of top spot in Group E as they face rock-bottom Maribor while Spartak Moscow, in second only by goal difference, are in action against Sevilla who sit a point adrift.

In Group F, Manchester City can put one foot in the last-16 as they face third-placed Napoli, while Shakhtar Donetsk will be hoping to further compound Feyenoord’s woes.

Another worthwhile fixture sees Group B leaders Besiktas take on second-placed RB Leipzig, while FC Porto will hope to keep themselves in contention for the knockout phases as they take on bottom-placed Monaco.

Besiktas v Monaco
Borussia Dortmund v Apoel Nicosia
FC Porto v RB Leipzig
Liverpool v Maribor
