Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli admits he is relishing the chance to test himself against Real Madrid ahead of tonight’s epic UEFA Champions League encounter.
The England international has not featured for Spurs in the European Cup this season due to a three-match suspension he was handed at the end of last term.
However, Alli will get his first taste of continental football on Wednesday as the north London club look to solidify top spot in Group H and the playmaker admits he is eager to showcase his talents against the defending champions.
“I‘m really looking forward to it [the game against Real Madrid],” Alli told Tottenham’s official website.
“Obviously it’s been hard to be sitting on the sidelines watching and knowing that you can’t play but the team have been doing really well so hopefully I can get on the pitch.
“We go into every game looking to win and it’s not going to be any different just because we’re playing Real Madrid, although I think we have to be focused a lot more. If you make any mistakes, they’re going to punish you.”
