Maritzburg United coach Fadlu Davids says he has to find a solution after teams have started parking the bus against his side.
Maritzburg started the season promisingly but are now riding an eight-game winless run and have failed to score in their previous five matches in all competitions.
“Teams are giving respect. They are sitting back, they’re forming a unit and you have to analyse the situation,” Davids said after his men lost 3-1 on penalties to fellow strugglers Platinum Stars in the last-16 of the Telkom Knockout on Friday.
“Our good start to the season has definitely made teams sit up, take notice and give us the respect we normally didn’t have as Maritzburg United.
“Yeah, we have to find a solution, we can’t complain about the bus. We can’t complain about anything, we have to find the solution as coaches to be able to unlock these tight, stubborn defenses.”
The Team of Choice tonight visit Bloemfontein Celtic in the Premiership at Dr Molemela Stadium (19h30).
Davids rested Siphesihle Ndlovu, Denis Weidlich and Yazid Atouba for the match, while Deolin Mekoa and Bevan Fransman featured off the bench against Dikwena at Harry Gwala Stadium.
