Orlando Pirates' Micho talks phones and upgrades after Telkom Knockout win over Golden Arrows

Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic says his team is constantly looking to upgrade.

Pirates snapped a four-game winless run with a 1-0 defeat of Golden Arrows in the last-16 of the Telkom Knockout on Saturday night.

Bucs extended their unbeaten run against Abafana Bes'thende in cup games to eight matches, having never lost to the Durban-based outfit in knockout games in the PSL era.

“Generally they are doing it, but this is a process and here I’m seeing so many telephones,” Sredojevic told reporters after the game.

“When you press a telephone and it's working, but when you work in football there’s no logic of progression... you are in a process, you are improving, but always bearing in mind that something will happen what will make you satisfied.

“This is why, whatever is good, we are keeping up and upgrading, looking to upgrade whatever is wrong, we’re looking to upgrade it.

“I believe that we’re in a process that has visible signs of us playing good and we are looking forward to getting much better results with good performances.”

He added: “We have forgotten about this and this is now part of history. We need to be happy this evening.

“As we’re moving in this happiness whenever Pirates are winning, our supporters are happy.

“However for us, the moment when the end of the match has been announced, we’re already thinking about Mamelodi Sundowns. We don’t want to think of anything but the Sundowns match and we’re planning for that now.”

Pirates, who last won the TKO in 2011, will meet Polokwane City in the quarterfinals.

‘Micho’ is slowing the reviving the Soweto giants, who last went to the podium as winners to lift the Nedbank Cup in 2014. They twice lost out to SuperSport United in the past two finals of the competition.

Micho rested Wayne Sandilands on the weekend with a mind to Wednesday's league game with the goalkeeper's ex-club Mamelodi Sundowns at Orlando Stadium.
