Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin Sredojevic was pleased to see his side dominate and get the win against Golden Arrows.
Pirates secured their spot in the Telkom Knockout quarterfinals after Thabo Qalinge's first-half goal secured a 1-0 win over Arrows.
Sredojevic praised the way in which the match was played at the Princess Magogo Stadium.
"It was a good game of football, proper competitive cup match. We played against a very good team who are second on the log in the PSL," Micho told SuperSport TV.
"We came here with the aim to qualify through three strategic points; One, Instead of sitting back and defend, we wanted to take control of possession. I believe we dominated possession.
"Two, we wanted to create and convert. We opened the game well after 35 minutes. In the second half instead of holding into possession we wanted to kill off the game.
"Three, in the second half the opposition were coming through us on the wings, we wanted to block the crosses but you can't block everything. I'm happy we qualified."
The former Uganda national team coach was asked about his future prospects for his team.
"We're going in the right direction, I believe Rome was not built in one day. The players were really committed, they respected the badge, 80 years of history. Everyone gave his best," he added.
