Senzo Meyiwa's family pained by unsolved murder of Bafana and Orlando Pirates star

Posted: 26 October 2017 Time: 16:45

Senzo Meyiwa's father says the family is still in pain and looking for answers three years after the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper was slain.

The Orlando Pirates keeper was shot dead on October 26, 2014 when visiting his girlfriend, singer Kelly Khumalo, in Vosloorus.

No arrests have been made - much to the anguish of his dad Sam.

"It's painful," says Sam. "What is more painful is that no one has been arrested.

"His mother has been crying the whole day when remembering this was the day when Senzo was killed. It's very sad that we are not getting answers from anybody.

"We are going to hold a prayer service at home [in Umlazi], starting from tomorrow until Sunday. We have now only put our hopes to God to find the truth."

Sam says the family has had a tough time making ends meet since the Bucs star's passing.

"He was always full of smiles. Senzo used to do everything for the family. Things are now tough at home as he was also a bread winner and provided everything for the family."
