Gould on Daniels partnership

Morgan Gould feels there's little special about his combination with Clayton Daniels at the back for SuperSport United, saying they merely speak the universal language of football.
The centre-backs helped SuperSport reclaim the Nedbank Cup last term and clinch MTN8 honours earlier this month, prompting Bafana Bafana recalls for both men from ex-club coach Stuart Baxter.
Matsatsantsa mentor Eric Tinkler will be banking on their experience when the side contests their maiden Confederation Cup final across two legs against Congolese giants TP Mazembe in November.
"It’s luck. I think we, you know, football is a universal language,” Gould, who hails from Soweto, said of his partnership with Cape Town-born Daniels.
“His background and my background, you can put so many people's backgrounds together as long as you understand football.
“Football is one language. You play football and understand the game. We are just blessed to be partnering, not forgetting the other guys that are in the team because they’re also contributing.
“You guys may see the 11 men that are playing but the guys that are training with us, they give 200 percent and push us to give 300 percent.
"So credit to the guys in the team, SuperSport, the board... it it just happy times for us,” concluded the 34-year-old, who revived his career on his return to United in 2016/17 after an injury-affected four-year spell at Kaizer Chiefs.
