Paseka Mako back as Chippa monitor Katlego Mashego and Sandile Zuke

Chippa United have been boosted by the return of winger Paseka Mako, but have concerns surrounding the condition of their top scorer Katlego Mashego and midfielder Sandile Zuke.

Mako has recovered from a ligament injury sustained in a friendly against Nelson Mandela University around a fortnight ago, which saw him miss his side's previous two league games.

However, veteran striker Mashego and Zuke are being closely monitored after picking up knocks in the 2-1 victory over Cape Town City last weekend. Mashego bagged a 72nd-minute winner against the Citizens for his third goal of the season.

Coach Teboho Moloi will no doubt hope the experienced pair are available for Sunday's Telkom Knockout opener with Mashego's former team Mamelodi Sundowns at Sisa Dukashe Stadium (15h30).

Chilli Boys spokesman Luthando 'Trompies' Zibeko has urged the club's fans to make their presence count when the Brazilians visit Mdantsane.

“Tickets for this game are selling fast like Shamrock Pies. As those who have graced our province know, Shamrock Pies are in high demand,” he told Chippa's website.

“We would like to call on our supporters to come in numbers on Sunday, and also buy tickets on time to avoid disappointment.”
