Evergreen striker Siyabonga Nomvete was thrilled to score a landmark goal in AmaZulu's 2-1 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns.
'Bhele', who turns 40 in December, came off the bench to equalise against Downs for the 120th PSL goal of his career on Saturday.
Fellow veteran Mabhudi Khenyeza then bagged a last-gasp winner with his 107th PSL strike at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
“I am so ecstatic about the goal. I am sure it’s a big day for me scoring [my 120th goal],” said Nomvete.
“It makes me feel so happy. I want to thank God for the opportunity.”
Nomvete, the oldest active player in the PSL, has no thoughts of calling it a day any time soon.
“I work hard and I spend most of my time with my family. I like training. I don’t miss any training sessions because I like to work. It makes me stay fit.
“I believe the talent is a blessing from God, that’s why I want to thank him for the opportunity of continuing playing. I am not sure when I am going to stop playing because the legs are still carrying me and the goals are still coming.”
Nomvete is set to face his former team Kaizer Chiefs in the last-16 of the Telkom Knockout this Saturday at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
