Chippa United registered their first Absa Premiership win under Teboho Moloi with a 2-1 victory over Cape Town City at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium.
The win also ended a run of five consecutive draws for the Chilli Boys as they fought hard to gain all three points.
Lyle Lakay opened the scoring for City after volleying home Lehlohonolo Majoro's cross into the back of the net in the 18th minute, leaving Daniel Akpeyi with no chance.
Mark Mayembela had a wonderful opportunity to equalise for Chippa after being played through on goal but he shot well wide after 30 minutes.
Benni McCarthy's charges headed into the half-time break with the slender advantage.
Chippa had the perfect response after the break as Abel Mabaso unleashed a long-range shot from a tight angle to make it 1-1 after 50 minutes.
The goal spurred the home team on as Menzi Masuku directed a tap-in attempt off target after 56 minutes.
Katlego Mashego completed the turnaround for Chippa in the 71st minute after a goal-mouth scramble in the box.
City threw numbers forward in pursuit of an equaliser in the closing stages, but the Chilli Boys managed to hold on to claim their first win of the campaign.
