Michael Morton delighted to be playing for AmaZulu again

Posted: 22 October 2017 Time: 00:06

AmaZulu midfielder Michael Morton says he was delighted to get back on the field after returning from suspension.

Morton was sent off in Usuthu's 3-0 win over Bidvest Wits last month and missed the club's previous two Absa Premiership encounters.

The 28-year-old returned to the line-up on Saturday and picked up the Man of the Man award as AmaZulu claimed an impressive 2-1 win over Mamelodi Sundowns.

"It feels like I haven't played football since forever. It's been a month since I last kicked a ball competitively. It's just good to be back with the boys," Morton told SuperSport TV.

"We changed our shape in the second half. We were playing 3-4-3 in the first half but in second half we started to cause trouble after playing 4-4-2.

"The guys kept on fighting until the end. Especially if you consider we played on Wednesday, we needed recovery. The boys played their socks off, really proud of them."
