Cavin Johnson delighted with AmaZulu's victory over Mamelodi Sundowns

AmaZulu head coach Cavin Johnson felt his charges deserved the victory over Mamelodi Sundowns.

Goals from Siyabonga Nomvethe and Mabhuti Khenyeza saw Usuthu come from behind to secure a 2-1 win at Loftus Stadium on Saturday evening.

Johnson was pleased with the effort his men put in on the night.

"Look I think the boys deserved it. We played a good game against a good team like Mamelodi Sundowns. They have very good players. In the first half we had our backs against the wall," the former Platinum Stars coach told SuperSport TV.

"We lost a player very early, we had to shuffle a little bit, we played a right winger at right-back. In the end they were winning 1-0 and we pushed the game. You're pushing, pushing and it works and then you're happy.

"We needed the three points more than Mamelodi Sundowns today. I'm glad the boys put in a shift, it works sometimes."
