Zinedine Zidane admits Real Madrid's return fixture at Tottenham next month will be "like a final"

Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane believes the return leg against Tottenham will be “like a final” as both sides aim to progress to the UEFA Champions League knockouts as top seeds.

The Galacticos had to come from behind to rescue a 1-1 draw at home in a top-of-the-table Group H encounter on Tuesday, where Cristiano Ronaldo’s penalty cancelled out an own goal from Raphaël Varane.

The result left Madrid below Spurs on goal difference at the top of the standings ahead of the return fixture at Wembley Stadium in a fortnight, and Zidane knows just how important a win at Wembley Stadium could prove.

"Now there is a return game at Wembley and we will go there to try and win it," Zidane told reporters.

"We will see how the next game goes. The three points we did not get here, we will try and get them at Wembley, which is now a game like a final.

"It is not their home pitch, and we will try and go there and win the game. If we play away as we did in Dortmund, we will be happy."
