Sundowns' Tiyani Mabunda and Bloemfontein Celtic's Lantshene Phalane suspended

Posted: 20 October 2017 Time: 09:37

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Tiyani Mabunda and Bloemfontein Celtic attacker Lantshene Phalane are suspended for the next round of Premiership action.

Mabunda earned a two-game ban following his dismissal in the 2-1 loss to Kaizer Chiefs at Loftus Versfeld on Tuesday.

Sundowns will host AmaZulu at the same venue on Saturday night before visiting Chippa United in the last-16 of the Telkom Knockout on October 29.

Celtic will be minus Phalane when they tackle Ajax Cape Town at Athlone Stadium tomorrow night. Phalane received a fourth booking in the 1-0 defeat of Cape Town City at the same venue earlier this week.

SuperSport United quartet Aubrey Modiba, Bradley Grobler, Dean Furman and Teboho Mokoena are one caution away from a one-match ban. However, they are not in any immediate danger as Matsatsantsa prepare to battle Tunisia's Club Africain in Rades on Sunday for a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup final. The first leg ended 1-1 in Tshwane three weeks ago.
