Golden Boot contender Rodney Ramagalela is confident the team can repeat their top-eight finish this season.
Ramagalela currently tops the PSL scoring charts with five goals, having netted with a superb solo effort in the five-goal thriller against AmaZulu last night.
The result snapped a five-game winless run for Rise and Shine and lifted Bernard Molekwa's side to 12th in the Premiership standings with eight points from as many matches.
Ramagalela accepts much is expected of the team following their exploits under Molekwa and Luc Eymael in 2016/17.
“I think we’ve a little bit of pressure to do it again and put ourselves in a top-eight position,” said Ramagalela, whose 10 goals last term helped City record a best-ever sixth-place finish.
“But realistically I don’t have doubts that we can repeat it again the way we are playing.
“Of course it is bit tougher this season if you can check. And for us as Polokwane City to find ourselves in this position, we’ve got to find a way to take ourselves out of this."
On a personal front, the in-form 28-year-old says he has not set himself a goal target for the campaign.
“For me I don’t have a target. The target is for Polokwane City to be in a safe position,” says the former Mamelodi Sundowns forward.
“You know when you have guys who are believing in you, everything is possible. Hard work also, and commitment in games, I think it’s working for me.”
