Arsene Wenger admits 'it's possible' Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil could be sold in January

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits “it’s possible” the club could cash in on Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil in the next transfer window.

The pair have both been tipped with potential moves away from north London, with Sanchez having even bid the subject of multiple bids from Manchester City, who were ultimately shot down by the Gunners.

And, while Wenger is keen to keep the pair for the foreseeable future, the Frenchman admits their is the chance they could both depart the Emirates Stadium in 2018.

Asked if there are deadlines by which the pair need to sign contract extensions before, Wenger said: "No, not at the moment."

When quizzed whether the duo could be sold in January, the manager added: "Once you are in our kind of situation, we have envisaged every solution yes.

"It's possible."

However, Ozil’s agent has already revealed extension talks with Arsenal are “positive”, and Wenger believes the Germany international is not looking to leave England.

Wenger continued: "I have always said that the fact we didn't find an agreement [with Ozil] last year doesn't mean the player will necessarily leave.

"Both players looked happy here and overall I hope the situation can be turned around.

"At the moment we are not close enough to announce anything."
