SAFA president Danny Jordaan has appealed to every African to vote for Oscarine Masuluke to win the Puskas Award.
The South African goalkeeper is vying with French striker Olivier Giroud and Venezuela’s Deyna Castellanos for the prize, which will be handed out in London on October 23.
Baroka's Masuluke, who was nominated for a bicycle kick he slotted against Orlando Pirates in November last year, is hoping to become the first African to win the accolade.
“We must play our part in ensuring that Masuluke makes history by becoming the first African footballer to bring such an award home,” said Jordaan.
“A win for Oscar is a win for Africa; this is not about which club a person supports or which country they are from. It is about giving African football the recognition that it deserves and this is why we urge each and every African to vote for Oscarine.”
