Bafana Bafana winger Keagan Dolly says it will reflect poorly on the team if they disappoint in their double header with Senegal after impressing in the 3-1 win over Burkina Faso.
Bafana restored hopes of qualifying for the World Cup by dispatching the Burkinabe at FNB Stadium on Saturday, bouncing back from two shock defeats to minnows Cape Verde.
However, Dolly is well aware Bafana need victories over the Senegalese in back-to-back Group D qualifiers on November 10 and 14 if they are to take their place amongst the best at Russia 2018.
"I think after the two disappointing results against Cape Verde we had to win, especially playing at home. We needed to back ourselves and prove to the country we are willing to work hard," said the former Mamelodi Sundowns star.
"We did well as a team, defended well, took our chances and stuck to the game plan. Going forward this will give confidence knowing we have to win both matches.
"I think the boys showed character and showed we really want to go to Russia for the World Cup. I think if we continue working as hard as we did we stand a good chance to qualify."
The France-based attacker added: "I think for every national game you have to take it like a World Cup qualifier. You have to put your body on line. With us and the position where we are going to Senegal, we created it for ourselves by dropping points against Cape Verde.
"I agree with the coach [Stuart Baxter], the next match is even bigger. We can't play like this then go to Senegal and not give the same performance. It would be a bad reflection on us as players.
"I am sure after this result we got the confidence we need and got the goals, we just took charge of the game."
