Ajax Cape Town coach Stanley Menzo is encouraged by Junaid Sait's hunger to break through at the Urban Warriors.
Ajax signed the centre-back on a four-year deal in August after he captained Stellenbosch FC in the PSL Promotion/Relegation Play-Offs in 2016/17.
Sait, the son of former Cape Town Spurs and Orlando Pirates star Kamaal, has been catching Menzo's eye with his performances in the the MultiChoice Diski Challenge.
The 24-year-old's prospects of PSL game-time have also improved following an injury to Orlando Pirates loannee Tercious Malepe, who faces around six weeks on the sidelines.
Menzo told the club's website: “It is not easy for him [Junaid], he played regularly in the National First Division last season and now he is playing MDC. he needs that challenge and he has asked me how we can keep challenging him.
“At this moment he feels that he needs a step up, and I am glad he said that to me and has that mentality. We have to challenge him, if we can’t challenge him in MDC matches or friendly matches we have to challenge him another way.”
Menzo's side, in 13th spot on the table with five points from six games, next visit Free State Stars at Goble Park on Wednesday 18 October. Kick-off is at 19h30.
