Jose Mourinho not banking on Manchester United's early flying form in the Premier League

Posted: 6 October 2017 Time: 15:01

Jose Mourinho believes Manchester United’s flying start to the season would mean guaranteed silverware in most European leagues, but not in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have looked imperious in their opening seven top-flight matches, winning six and drawing one while scoring 21 goals and conceding just two to sit joint-top of the standings with rivals Manchester City.

However, Mourinho insists that form is not something you can bank on in the title race and knows there is still a long way to go until the trophy is in sight.

“Nothing has happened yet,” he said. “Last year it started harder and it turned out really well.

“This year it has started really well, but we do not know how it's going to end.

“In another championship, this would mean almost the title, but in England it means nothing.”
