Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands says Bafana Bafana are well aware of the stakes heading into their World Cup qualifier with Burkina Faso.
Bafana will host the Stallions at FNB Stadium on Saturday looking to revive their hopes of earning a ticket to Russia 2018.
Stuart Baxter's men are bottom of Group D with a point from three games - five points shy of the Burkinabe and Cape Verde at the summit. The pace-setting duo have played an extra match.
Sandilands, who will provide cover to Itumeleng Khune on the weekend provided the Kaizer Chiefs man shakes off a shoulder injury, is well aware of the stakes.
“The mood in the camp is positive,” he told Bucs' website. “We have been working really hard and know the importance of this game. Sure, this is a tough match but we are looking forward to the challenge and looking forward to a positive result.
“For now we need to focus on collecting points in the matches that we have control over but we will do so one game at a time. We go into this match well aware of what is expected from us.”
South Africa will afterwards conclude their qualifying campaign with back-to-back matches with Senegal, who have five points from three games.
