Former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti open to Premier League return, but only from 2018 onwards

Carlo Ancelotti admits he would be open to a return to England’s Premier League but insists he will only consider getting back to management next season.

The Italian was sacked as Bayern Munich coach last month following the Bavarians’ slow start to the season which culminated in the shock 3-0 UEFA Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

The former Milan, Juventus, Chelsea, Real Madrid and PSG boss has since been strongly tipped with a switch back to the English top flight, where he previously led the Blues to a Premier League and FA Cup double in 2010.

And while Ancelotti would be willing to return to England, he insists that any decision will only be made next year.

He told Sky Sports: "I want to manage. Not this season, maybe next season.

“I have no preference, in the Premier League or at another club. The only thing I want to do is to train."

He added: “I will rest for the next 10 months, so no other teams.”
