Free State Stars striker Mohammed Anas is adamant the club will not face another relegation fight this season.
The Bethlehem-based outfit narrowly survived demotion from the Premiership last term courtesy of goal difference.
Ea Lla Koto also started 2017/18 poorly but are showing signs of life under new coach Luc Eymael after recording back-to-back wins over Polokwane City and Maritzburg United.
Anas has no doubt the 11th-placed side are on the up.
"Never!" he told KickOff.com when asked if the club's fans will go through the same trauma of 2016/17.
"God must help me in terms of injuries. We have the quality, we have the players.
"Yes, we were unlucky in one or two games but it depends on us how much we want it, and how far do we want to go."
The Ghanaian was naturally pleased to hit a brace against Rise and Shine, having missed the first two games of the season with a knock sustained in training.
"Scoring those two goals after what I went through. The thing is we are like a family here. I pushed very hard during the pre-season tournament only to get injured when the league was about to start."
One of Anas's goals was a long-range strike, and he revealed Eymael is urging the team to shoot from distance.
"Thanks to the coach, his thinking in football is one of the best in South Africa. The encouragement I received from my teammates and the technical team since we knew I was going to play in that game was amazing.
"I'm not the only one who shoots from distance, even Paulus Masehe's goal was from long range. It starts at training, we have that thing that if you are outside the box you must shoot. We do this kind of thing regularly at training," says Anas, who netted five times in 13 league appearances for Stars last term.
