Marco Asensio has agreed to sign a six-year deal with Real Madrid

Posted: 30 September 2017 Time: 10:45

Real Madrid have secured the long-term future of Marco Asensio after agreeing a new six-year contract with the striker.

The Spanish forward still had over two years to run on his current deal at the Santiago Bernabeu but his four goals in 10 appearances this term have inspired Los Blancos to extend his stay.

The 21-year-old is the latest in a long line of Madrid players to sign new contracts, including Marcelo, Isco, Dani Carvajal, Karim Benzema, Rafael Varane and Marcos Llorente.

Asensio has seen his stock rise significantly since joining the La Liga giants from Real Mallorca in 2014, having even netted in the UEFA Champions League final last season.

The forward has even kept the likes of Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema out of the starting XI and will be hoping for more game time when Real Madrid host Espanyol in the Spanish Primera Liga on Sunday evening [20:45 kickoff].
