Maritzburg United defender Pogiso Sanoka expects an aggressive Free State Stars outfit when the teams collide at Harry Gwala Stadium on Friday night.
Maritzburg, in sixth place on the Premiership table after five matches, are looking to snap a three-game winless run and bounce back from their first league defeat of the season, a 2-0 loss to Kaizer Chiefs at the same venue last week.
Stars are hovering just above the drop zone but picked up their first win of the campaign with a 3-2 victory at fellow strugglers Polokwane City in their previous outing.
Sanoka told his club's website: "The two previous games we never scored, and especially playing at home that was disappointing. But the coach has been working hard with us this week, and each individual player is also working hard to improve his game.
"So we are all moving in the same direction, whereby we want to bring in that happiness again by getting a good result. We take each game as it comes. We forget about the past games we have played, and are focused only on Friday’s game. The mood in the camp is great and everyone is looking forward to the match.
"Stars are an aggressive side, they play different football to other teams. They are not one of these teams playing quick transition football. We have watched them play so we know what to expect, and what is expected of us."
Sanoka has featured in seven of his side's eight games in all competitions in 2017/18, and says he is enjoying his football at right-back.
"There’s lots of experienced guys there, the likes of Bevan, Siya and Danso. I think we're all learning from each other. The communication has been important both on the field of play and off it. I think so far so good because we didn’t concede many goals this season and the errors have been minimal. We understand each other well and that's what's helping the team at the moment."
