The new signing has been sidelined since sustaining an injury in the first game of the campaign against his former club Chippa United at Orlando Stadium on August 28.

However, Sangweni is back in training and could return in the clash with Premiership strugglers Platinum Stars in Soweto on October 18.

"He was injured. He is now back at training and working on his fitness," said Sredojevic, whose side suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of champions Bidvest Wits on Saturday night.

"He should be ready after the international week," added the Serbian.

Pirates - a point shy of log leaders Golden Arrows after six matches - will look to get back to winning ways against an out-of-sorts Polokwane City at Peter Mokaba Stadium this Saturday (20h15).

Rise and Shine may soon have a new coach at the helm in the shape of ex-Chippa United mentor Dan Malesela.
