Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands says the 1-0 loss to Bidvest Wits left a bitter taste.
Pirates suffered their first defeat of the season to the under-fire champions via Gerald Phiri's 20th minute strike at Bidvest Stadium over the weekend.
Bucs, who are a point behind log leaders Golden Arrows, next visit struggling Polokwane City on Saturday night.
“It's bitter to lose and as players we don’t want to accept it,” said the former Mamelodi Sundowns man.
”For us now in the next few days we have to pull ourselves together and try get ourselves back to the energy levels where we came from and give a good performance.”
The Sea Robbers have only conceded twice in six games in 2017/18, having shipped 40 goals last term prior to Sandilands' arrival at Mayfair.
He added: “Look, conceding is something I can't handle. It is extremely disappointing to concede two goals but anyway we have to take the positive out of these performances. It's part of football.
“We just have have to pull together for the next game, get back to the positive frame of mind and make sure that the good start we made, we maintain it and we push on from here.”
