Khalid Aucho has fallen off Orlando Pirates' radar after the club requested he have a trial at Mayfair.

Pirates coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic, who worked with Aucho during his spell in charge of Uganda, showed interest in recruiting the former Baroka midfielder.

However, Aucho was reportedly put out by Buccaneers management wanting him to undergo an assessment in Johannesburg.

"Aucho came back to Uganda on Thursday [last week] from South Africa after failing to agree terms with Orlando," a source close to the player tells KickOff.com.

"Again they wanted him for trials which he refused. They watched all the two games of World Cup qualifiers against Egypt so why trial first? He told coach Micho why do they want him for trials yet he has worked with him for over four years.

"Aucho is in Uganda, he told me he is going to sign a six-month contract for a local club. Zanaco were willing to send him a [plane] ticket before he went to Scotland for trials. He had so many offers, Zamalek, El Gaish, Orlando Pirates, Nkana and Zanaco."

Aucho confirmed he was no longer looking to join the Sea Robbers but stopped short of explaining why a prospective deal fell through.

"Am in Uganda now... don't know. I am a player waiting for my agent," says the 24-year-old, who spent six months with Bakgaga last term before a short stint with Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade.

After being unable to get hold of Pirates administrative officer Floyd Mbele, Bucs media officer Thandi Merafe would only go as far to say: "If there is anything concerning a player the club will release a statement."
