Kaizer Chiefs' Bobby Motaung cools Mzikayise Mashaba talk following his Mamelodi Sundowns exit

Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has poured cold water on fresh reports linking Mzikayise Mashaba with the club.

Mamelodi Sundowns recently terminated the 28-year-old's contract for ill-discipline, as reported by City Press.

Talk of Mashaba being on Chiefs' radar has since resurfaced, but Motaung insists there is no substance to such speculation.

"No, not at all. It's the first time I hear about this [Chiefs being interested in the player]. That's news to me. Those reports are not true," Motaung tells KickOff.com.

Mashaba, whose agent Tim Sukazi could not be reached for comment, is currently sidelined with an Achilles tendon injury.
