Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands expressed his delight with his side keeping a clean sheet against Cape Town City.

Thabo Qalinge's second-half strike helped Pirates claim a 1-0 win over the Citizens to move top of the Absa Premiership table.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns shot-stopper was named Man of Match and he was thrilled with the win on the night.

"I was happy that we didn't concede. I'm absolutely elated that we got three points," Sandilands told SuperSport TV.

"I think we just need to keep on improving, keep building. There's still a long way to go but I'm just happy for the three points.

"Just to keep the team in the game was vital and for us just keep our feet and keep pressing. So I'm really grateful for the clean sheet, this award and the three points."
