Robert Sankara hoping for a deal with University of Pretoria

Posted: 19 September 2017 Time: 19:45

Burkina Faso international Robert Sankara has surfaced at University of Pretoria as he presses on with his club search.

Sankara left Bloemfontein Celtic in May following the non-renewal of his contract and is now a free agent.

Since his arrival back in the country earlier this month Sankara briefly trained with Platinum Stars but nothing came out of his time there and he's now at Tuks to try his luck.

The First Division campaigners are keen on a central defender and Shaun Bartlett has indicated that he will need to assess Sankara first before making any decision.

Sankara was born in Ivory Coast but plays his international football for neighbouring Burkina Faso.

Last season Sankara was restricted to playing 10 games for Celtic as he fell out of favour at the club, but he remains a reliable central defender who has also played for Sudanese powerhouse Al Hilal.
