'Morena should play Bafana home games'

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane believes Thapelo Morena would be the perfect man to play at right-back in Bafana Bafana’s home matches.
Mosimane signed Morena as a right winger from Bloemfontein Celtic, but has transformed the player into a right-back.
The 24-year-old enjoys getting forward and this, Mosimane believes, is what Bafana needs when they play their home matches.
With regular right-back Ramahlwe Mphahlele set to miss the rest of the year through injury, Morena could be an option for Bafana coach Stuart Baxter for the remaining 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifiers this year.
There’s Abbubaker Mobara, Reeve Frosler and Grant Kekana as other options in that position.
“In my opinion, if we are at home with Bafana, he [Morena] is the one who should play right-back. You want to score? You want to overlap? Thapelo is there,” said Mosimane.
“Defensively away and you want to keep the results, then 'Rama' [Mphahlele] is good.”
Mosimane believes he invested well in Morena, whom he believes will attract interest from Europe in future.
“Thapelo is a winner. Yes there are other right-backs who are more established [at Sundowns] than him, but I have a long-term [plan]. Very soon there will be a team in Europe that wants him. That’s what you need to invest in. Real Madrid are investing in the younger ones and Barca also.”
Despite not playing him regularly, Mosimane believes Asavela Mbekile is the best right-back in the country.
“I believe Mbekile is the best right-back in the country. I am not lying. He is the best right-back in the country, but he is not happy to play right-back for us,” said Mosimane.
