Maritzburg United coach Fadlu Davids proud of his team following draw with Orlando Pirates

Maritzburg United coach Fadlu Davids says he is proud of the effort put in by his charges against Orlando Pirates in what was their third game in six days.

The Team of Choice maintained top spot in the Absa Premiership after playing out a goalless draw with visiting Pirates on Friday evening.

The Team of Choice were reduced to ten men late in the match but held on for the point, and Davids was full of praise for his men.

"I'm extremely proud of the boys this evening. We get into our third game in six games and the second half you can see that the tired legs are coming up. They grinded. They pushed even playing with ten men," Davids told SuperSport TV.

"In the first half we could have been 3-0 up. But in the end analysing the second half I'm extremely proud of the boys.

"Tactically they [Pirates] were doing well and made it tough for us. We could have done better but it's understandable with a third game in six days."
