Free State Stars centre-back Rooi Mahamutsa faces eight weeks on the sidelines with an injury, while defensive midfielder Makhehleni Makhaula has been ruled out of the next two games.
“The two players will not be in the squad for the two Polokwane matches against Baroka and Polokwane City respectively,” Stars physiotherapist Ryan Coert told the club's website.
“Rooi Mahamutsa has suffered a tibial stress fracture in his right leg and will miss approximately the next eight weeks, and Makhehleni Makhaula has a stress fracture of the navicular bone in the right foot.”
The pair played in Ea Lla Koto's first two fixtures of the season, but missed the 2-1 home loss to African champions Mamelodi Sundowns on Monday.
Luc Eymael's side take on Baroka at Peter Mokaba Stadium tomorrow before visiting the Belgian coach's ex-employers Polokwane City at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium three days later.
The Bethlehem-based outfit are 13th on the Premiership table with a point from three games.
