Free State Stars coach Luc Eymael stresses the importance of collecting maximum points

Posted: 14 September 2017 Time: 19:45

Free State Stars head coach Luc Eymael is aware that his side will have to start collecting maximum points as soon as possible if they hope to avoid a relegation battle.

Ea Lla Koto, who are without a win thus far in the Absa Premiership, are fourth from bottom on the standings and next on their schedule are back-to-back matches in Limpopo against Baroka FC and Eymael's former side Polokwane City.

Eymael is wary of the threat the two sides possess. They take on Baroka on Saturday and City on Tuesday.

"We have two tough games in Limpopo," Eymael tells Kickoff.com.

"Both Baroka and Polokwane are doing very well at the moment. Polokwane will be looking to bounce back after their Tuesday loss but I'm not looking that far ahead. At the moment I will have to deal with Baroka first before thinking about my former team Polokwane.

"The reality is we have to start collecting points now because we are not far from the bottom of the log. We have to try to deliver."

The Belgian coach welcomes back four players for the trip to Limpopo in Gabonese attacker Allen Nono, Rwandan goalkeeper Olivier Kwizera and defenders Thamsanqa Teyise and Sifiso Mbhele.

"Nono is coming back from injury, and again we will have Teyise back because he was out with suspension and Sifiso Mbhele is coming back as well. One of our new goalkeepers Olivier Kwizera got his ITC [International Transfer Certificate] from FIFA yesterday and he will be travelling with the team to Limpopo."
