Siphelele Ntshangase calls for Baroka focus following win over Chippa United

Posted: 14 September 2017 Time: 14:55

Baroka newcomer Siphelele Ntshangase has urged the team to stay focused following their promising start to the season.

Bakgaga, who narrowly survived relegation last term, began 2017/18 with draws against derby rivals Polokwane City and Soweto giants Orlando Pirates before beating Chippa United 3-1 in Port Elizabeth on Tuesday.

Ntshangase, however, is mindful there is still long a way to go.

"No game is easy. What we need to do is to focus on the next game and keep our heads down," Ntshangase tells

"Our job as Baroka players is to stay competitive. It's important to keep the competition high. Every player should play his role and compete."

The South Africa international says they are more than ready to face Free State Stars at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

"We are ready and I can assure you readiness is always there at Baroka. If you play at home there will always be an advantage. But we need to focus on our own game, Free State Stars are dangerous on their given day.

"We will be obviously looking for a win as every game we play is important to us," concludes the 24-year-old, who joined Kgoloko Thobejane's side on a two-year deal from Black Leopards last month.
