Teboho Moloi takes charge of Chippa United following Dan Malesela sacking

Posted: 14 September 2017 Time: 11:02

Former Orlando Pirates assistant coach Teboho Moloi has been appointed caretaker coach of Chippa United following the departure of Dan Malesela.

Chippa said on Twitter: 'We confirm Teboho Moloi as caretaker coach, effective immediately...'

Malesela was dismissed in the wake of a 3-1 home loss to Baroka on Tuesday night. The Chilli Boys beat AmaZulu 2-0 in Port Elizabeth and lost 1-0 at Orlando Pirates in their first two games of the campaign.

Moloi recently left United after spending a month working under Malesela, citing differing methodologies as his reasons for leaving.

'Tebza' was reportedly helping Buya Msuthu in the Motsepe League towards the end of last year after being placed on leave at Pirates in the latter stages of 2015/16.

He had been second in command to Eric Tinkler, Roger de Sa, Vladimir Vermezovic, Augusto Palacios, Julio Leal, Milutin Sredojevic and Kosta Papic in his time on Bucs' bench.
