Golden Arrows forward Knox Mutizwa senses Bidvest Wits weakness

Posted: 13 September 2017 Time: 18:40

Golden Arrows striker Knox Mutizwa believes the time is right to gain revenge against champions Bidvest Wits following their combustible MTN8 meeting in the first game of the season.

Abafana Bes'thende lost 4-3 on penalties to Wits at Bidvest Stadium last month following a fiery 2-2 draw that produced six red cards, which included the dismissals of coaches Gavin Hunt, Clinton Larsen and Mandla Ncikazi [assistant].

Mutizwa, who joined Arrows from the Students on a permanent deal in August after impressing on loan in Durban last term, expects a different outcome when the clubs revive hostilities at the same venue in the league tonight (19h30).

"I think things will be different this time because we didn't know how they play and now we know Wits are strong on set-pieces. They've got big defenders so they utilise set-pieces," Mutizwa tells KickOff.com.

"So now I think it's better because we have a game plan after the first game where we didn't know their strong points. I feel things will be a lot easier because we know their strengths and weaknesses.

"You can also see they are not on form and we have to take advantage of that," he adds, referring to the hosts' five-match winless streak in regulation time this season.

The Zimbabwean felt his team gave the match away last time after squandering a two-goal lead in Johannesburg.

"We could've beaten Wits if it was not for our mistakes. You can see we were 2-0 up and we just gave them a penalty. They equalised through our mistakes and they eventually won it but we had the upper hand."

Larsen is without long-term casualty Danny Phiri and defender Lehlohonolo Nonyane (hamstring injury), but right-back Siyabonga Dube is back after serving a two-game ban for his sending off against the Clever Boys.

The former Bloemfontein Celtic mentor will start the game with midfielder Jabulani Shongwe, who is on loan from Wits.
