Ajax Cape Town coach Stanley Menzo was not too pleased with how his charges started the game against Orlando Pirates.
Bernard Morrison's ninth minute strike condemned the Urban Warriors to their second defeat in three Absa Premiership games this season.
However, Menzo felt they conceded an unnecessary goal in the opening 10 minutes of the contest.
"We conceded an unnecessary goal from a throw-in," Menzo told SuperSport TV.
"We had problems in the first 20 minutes. I think, they [Pirates] were rotating on our right side. After 20 minutes we took the situation back. The last part of the first half we were okay.
"Second half, we have to make better decisions, quicker handling. We made them struggle and with a little bit of luck we could have made it 1-1."
Menzo also revealed what he told charges during the halftime break.
"I told them don't be afraid to play. We have to play and secondly, the way of defending, we had to block their number 14 [Musa Nyatama]. Behind we had to play with one extra man, not two and that helped us," added the Dutchman.
