Mamelodi Sundowns' Siyanda Zwane reveals Orlando Pirates talks

Mamelodi Sundowns right-back Siyanda Zwane insists he remains motivated at the club despite his failed move to Orlando Pirates during the recent transfer window.

Zwane admitted that there were talks with Pirates parallel to the deal that saw Oupa Manyisa join Sundowns last month. However, the Brazilians decided to keep him by exercising a one-year option on his contract.

Zwane says what motivates him now is the thought of winning a second straight CAF Champions League title with Downs.

"It's a catch 22 situation because on the one side, we are in the quarter-final of the Champions League and I would want to win that competition again," Zwane tells KickOff.com ahead of Sunday's clash with Wydad Casablanca at Lucas Moripe Stadium (15h00).

"On the other side, when I look at my situation, I felt there could be a chance for me to ressurect my career again and play more regularly because I can go to Pirates and fit in well.

"It would have been nice to go to Pirates and play, not necessarily only them but the other teams who I won't mention. But I'm here and I need to fight again and honour my contract."

Zwane is confident that he will see more game-time under head coach Pitso Mosimane.

"I have so much hope and I believe that I will get a chance to play," says Zwane, who missed the 2-1 league win at Free State Stars last night due to blisters on his toe.

"I just need to continue doing what I do. I won't give up now. I will continue to fight."
